Purpose and access
This personal backup utility uses the Google Drive API through rclone. It requests permission to access the owner's Google Drive so it can list, read, create, update and move backup files. The permission applies to the account's Drive and is not restricted by Google to the backup folder.
Use and storage
The utility copies selected homelab configuration, application data and database backups from the owner's OCI server to Google Drive. It checks backup files and retains previous versions of changed or deleted remote files. The Drive authorization credentials are stored on the server for unattended operation. Backup files remain in Google Drive until the owner removes them or changes the backup configuration.
Sharing
The utility uses Google Drive as its backup destination and runs on an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure server. The owner controls the connected Google account and the backup configuration.
Revoking access and deletion
The owner can revoke the utility's access in their Google Account's third-party connections. Revoking access stops the utility from accessing Drive; it does not automatically delete existing backup files. The owner can remove those files from Google Drive.
